I made a linkedIN to get internships in college in 2016 and always kept it because it does help with networking.
But ever since then the networking has gotten less and less and more and more people use it to post the exact same shit they would on Facebook or Twitter.
And LinkedIn isn't doing anything about it despite the website's original intention getting completely ruined.
And what's weirder is people are now saying if you don't participate in this trend companies will actually overlook you for not having enough life content on your profile. What ze fuck.

They said that a decade ago, but back then it worked for networking. I haven’t heard anybody say it in years. They also used to say you needed to have some form of social media but not zoomers and younger millennials don’t use Facebook, it’s for older millennials, gen x, and boomers. Nobody uses email to communicate for personal use, it’s just for signing up for services. You’re better off not having instagram or using tiktok. Social media was always a meme and it plateaued and cratered to the point where employers can’t reliably use it for background checks. Also LinkedIn is used to gather contacts and their positions at businesses for phishing schemes using impersonation scams.
