The Bretton Woods System was designed to fight the Cold War, it was allowed to persist after the Cold War ended because they never expected the war would end in anything but nuclear hell fire. So for 30 year the system was allowed the continue on auto pilot. Bretton Woods was also bribe the US paid to get everyone to take out side during the cold war against the Soviets.
However there is a fatal flaw to the Bretton Woods System that no few have noticed. When you industrialize you move from the rural to a urban environment. On the Farm children are free labor, in the city they are expensive luxury items so you have fewer of them. This has had a effect on the entire developed world. . There has been a massive reduction in the number of children being born each decade. So for the past 60 years it has seems as the world population was going to go out of control however we peaked in the mid 2010s and now we are about to see a massive decrease in global population.
What we are witnessing is the collapse of the previous paradigm. We are entering a new DARK AGE for mankind. We always think of progress as one way, but history tells us things can go to shit in a hurry. All the conflict that is to come will be nations desperately attempting to fight the dying of the light. the endgame is taking the means of manufacturing and making it modular, so that every homestead or every community has the ability to machine the things that it needs. it has to go far beyond prepping, stockpiling, and having a 3d printer and a toolbox. when things fall apart commercially, america won't stop.
