GTA IV actually tried to represent racial demographics at the street-level to some extent. Like the housing projects full of blacks, the upscale area with Jews, Chinatown, etc.

From an outsider's perspective, no I don't think so, but then again it is an entertainment product, would you really want it to get any more political than it already is?
Depends on how you want to look at it, it certainly doesn't have the best gameplay or mission variety, V improved on that greatly.

Wrong. Absolutely filtered. Grand Theft Auto 4 has the best gameplay because of its satisfying physics system. Grand Theft Auto 5’s gameplay also suffers because it has far less interiors than 4. The mission variety of Grand Theft Auto 4 is less diverse in objectives but this actually makes it better because missions in a Grand Theft Auto should be to kill, steal vehicles, and have shootouts, which Grand Theft Auto 4 missions are. Grand Theft Auto 5 has so many filler missions that would be considered a variety but are so fucking boring, nobody wants to do filler missions driving Jake around for character development or setting up heists. I wanna pull up to a gang area in the whip and have a shootout with some niggas in the streets or in an apartment complex/hotel/parking garage.
