I don't think you understand...none of that matters if it takes over. The world it makes will be completely alien to you and I. There is a decent film that almost touches on just how bizarre it might get called The Congress. But it will be far more alien than that. It won't be an on off switch...like day to night. Yeah if the singularity happens it would obviously be a huge change and who knows how. I suppose it depends on the foundations upon which the A.I. was built. You're probably familiar with the notion that an AI will develop high enough intelligence to achieve its utility function far past the point where it makes sense.
Still I think the more general issues I speak of are more currently pressing. Increase in technology sort of necessarily implies less freedom.
