The German energy companies started to send out the price increase notifications for gas.
Pic related is the letter a 88 year old woman received. So far she paid 5,25 cents including taxes for 1 kWh of gas. Starting October 1st the price increases by about 500% and will cost then 26,90 cents per kWh.
This will most likely go up by another 6 cents because the German government will introduce a special gas levy later this month.
This old lady paid so far 170€ per month, her new monthly payment will be 835€ without and ~1000€ with the special gas levy. She only has a monthly pension of 1300€ to cover all her expenses btw.
