They are borderline legal --the ones that are obvious electric dirtbikes like the Sur Ron. plus range is kind of shit on them..some dude was pretty much out of juice after 20 miles of fast and slow riding.
Sur Ron i think are around 4k or they were. You can upgrade them. I think you can hit 60mph+ on them but can melt shit and the range will be about 5 miles.
I ride a bicycle around town because I live in a shitty dystopian "walkable" city and bicycle maintainance is way more expensive than motorcycle maintainance, or even cheap shitbox maintainance. Not even going by kms done it's not even close. Those pieces of shit are trash designed to be used once by race teams and then thrown in the garbage or completely overhauled by team engineers every night. It's ridiculous how much tweaking and replacing they need just to do transmit force over a couple of cogs and a chain hopefully electric bikes simplify the design.
