Majority of food waste comes from supermarkets which discard 50% of their stock when it 'expires', or toss out their deli foods at the end of the day. It has very little to do with fast food, which in fact maintains tight margins on supply so they can maintain profit levels.

I cook at home for most meals I eat. GF and I eat together, plus we have leftovers for lunch the next day - especially during the work week. I do not feel it's bad or wasteful to go to a restaurant on the weekend if you can afford to do so and you've done some physical exertion beforehand.
