It was commissioned as a propaganda piece against the evil Soviet Empire run by a council of military commies who fight the capitalist West. The hero of the capitalists, Luke Starkiller was supposed to join the Empire’s flight academy with a friend from his military time. But he reconsidered when he gets an offer to bounty hunt two droids. Later he and Colonel Kenobi destroy a starbase that is built by commie indoctrinated slaves named “Ukis”.
What other movies are US gov funded and pure propaganda?
The CIA was involved in huge numbers of (((media))) projects over the years. Probably still are.
Kayden Bailey
>What other movies are US gov funded and pure propaganda? Top Gun Black Hawk Down Iron Man and most marvel capeshit after it The original call of duty writer went to work for spooks
Julian Cook
i call a lie since no studio wanted to pick up Lucas childish space fairy tale with light saber samurais script
Andrew Walker
Your a idiot user. The military “Star Wars” was a term the shit Libs I’m America called the anti missile defense program launched in the mid 80s
Star Wars the movie was made by an old dirty hippie in 1977.
Angel Mitchell
No one who cared about losing money, that is. You know who doesn't care about money? Government orgs with black budgets.
John Perez
Every John Wayne movie got cleared by the CIA. Especially the military ones.
Apocalypse now couldn’t get any help getting huey helos from the government unless they could change the script. It happens all the time
>Star Wars the movie was made by an old dirty hippie in 1977. Except the evil guys wear uniforms just like pic related. It's all a coincidence goy, nothing to see here!
>being this retarded show me soviet uniforms in SW
Empire is using Nazi Kelvin Klein designs
Carson Reed
huh long time before that I hear or read that it was all about Pacific war, Imperial = nippon, big battleships vs carriers then it switched and it was about nazis and now it was USSR all along CERN is sending me into different timelines or something
Wyatt Davis
no, its just typical Pole`s bullshit
Lukas wanted to write a fairy tale with no real relationship to anything. He was inspired by Samurai, WW2, Roman Empire etc.
If anything SW story is that of Roman Empire, turning from Republic o Empire and then fall of it
Brayden Nelson
the nippon obviously is most sensible emperor, light swords, battleships, clones, that imperial officers uniforms etc
Julian Foster

Nolan Hall
Star Wars was extremely apolitical
Oliver Allen
> Lukas wanted to write a fairy tale But the production house was paying for it, and it wanted a propaganda piece for the government. Pic related, a group of CzeKa operatives in 1920s note 3rd guy from the right in the last row Compare to Imperial uniform > same collar style > same hat style > same location of insignia
Hunter Hill

this and 20th century fox thought it would be a dud
What do you think the word "Slav" derived from? It's ancient Nordic for slave.
Xavier Martin
>and 20th century fox thought it would be a dud Of course they thought it would be a dud. It was a piece of pro-war propaganda premiering versus anti-war Damnation Alley. In 1977. Also, Lucas' original script was shit. SOMEBODY worked very hard to make this into a watchable movie and that part of the story never gets told.
starwars is a giant mash of things lucas even said he envisioned the empire as richard nixon controlling the entire galaxy vietnam was a big influence, and he finally got to do forest/jungle warfare with the ewoks/wookies
and at other times he's called the empire nazis, it's clear he took the stormtrooper idea from germany, and the space battles were reimaginings of things like ww2 dambusters
