What did geopolitical goal did Nancy's stunt achieve for the US? The POTUS, people in charge of foreign affairs, and god damn general of the US had to come on TV to do damage control for her stunt. He's not wrong. Her self serving stunt only gave China justification to amass its navy and airforce all around Taiwan. The wargames have been extended until August 15th with additional practice ranges set up around the island. Only 30% of pre-stunt air and sea traffic is able to get into and out of Taiwan.

Aggression should be done strategically. If you're gonna pissed China off and deal with the fallout anyways, why not accomplish something with it? Like getting to negotiate for a deal that benefit the US or going all out in setting up a base in Taiwan and prepare to go to war in return. Once again, nothing was accomplished, but it did give China an excuse to push the line further in their favor, as Trump said.
