The modern left and right are an illusion, created by the media at the request of several groups that I wont go into here for the sake of brevity. The whole purpose of it is to divide and radicalise to destroy societal cohesion to enable conquest. The same as Boomers vs Gen X vs Millenials vs Zoomers. The same as Men vs Women vs Traps vs Gay vs Straight. The same as Black vs White vs Asian. The same as East vs West. The same as Capitalism vs Communism. The same as any number of divisions the media and later the tech world have pushed

If you buy into any of these fake divisions, as most here sadly do, then you have already been brainwashed. The reason that left vs right is so effective is that leftism vs rightism is that its predominantly genetic and equal in numbers. Those born with "creative" brains (left) vs those born with "structured" brains (right) are born at pretty much 50/50 rates regardless of country, ethnicity, religion, etc. It puts half the world against the other half of the world. While we do usually become more structured in our brains as we get older (shift to the right) that shift seems to have been halted in those that have a heavy social media or MSM media consumption.
