One of the reasons people join the military is to feel like a soldier, and culturally they want to wear something that feels like military clothing even if they don't have a combat job.
Aside from that, it's also just practical and hard-wearing clothing that's suitable for everything from desk jobs to labour jobs to tactical/security jobs. They want one uniform that suits everyone.

But that said, there are tactical and security jobs in the air force. Pic related are some RAAF airfield defence guards, and yes it's a combat job. Obviously though, they wear green camo rather than the blue uniform that the rest of the RAAF wears.
