History Weeb here, dont fall for the Meiji restoration bullshit. There havent been true samurai since the Sengoku Period ended. Basically, Samurai became the quivelent of freemasons. A bunch of faggot ass rich kids, doing art and having gay sex with young boys because they were born into the aristocracy. You had a few lads who tried to keep up dueling schools. But in truth, the ideal of the Samurai as a warrior figure has been dead far longer than most people give it credit.
