it can definitely be accidental user, modern rocket technology is prone to failure and has happened in the past. If China wanted to invade Taiwan they would have already done it. This isn't a large enough force to do so, more a show of power and force. But I expect an invasion the next few months.

Most of the ccp's navy can be out of sight of land. Leaving a small force to handle the invasion. Blah blah blah hypersonic missles and shit. The sheer volume of missles the Japanese and Taiwanese will fire in response to this invasion will paint those waters into a briney gore borche of mutilated PLA lady bois. They would see their air craft carriers all heavily damaged if not sunk. Who knows how many of their shit tier landing craft would even reach the beaches. Even if all of them did they would only land a pitance of the force needed to control the Taiwanese citizenry, never mind the military. The PLA that lands on the beach would be hopelessly out of ammo long before any relief were to arrive.

The logistics of this invasion just arent there. It's a distraction. The CCP hase ZERO intention of taking that Island. And fir what? National pride? You think the CCP would be able to run thise chip factories? Nope. No expertise and you can bet all of the experts will be dead or fled and the factories destroyed long before the CCP could take them.

So all risk. No reward. This invasion is not happening. Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, however, are way more likely to become targets of China's death throws.

People say that the US cant exist without China. Its the other way around. modern idustrialized China only exists when the US is policing trade through the straigh of Malaca and the middle east. They dont have the time left to build it. And their only smart play is to set up shop in vietnam and Thailand before bullying their way into singapore/malasyia. Taiwan is way down the line and Japan and Taiwan will attack China long before that could happen. So would Australia/UK and so would USA.
