China’s firing rockets over Taiwan threateningly in an attempt to get them to either hit back allowing them to start the war or for them to shoot down the rockets so China can gauge their missile defence ability before invasion, or so they can call off a planned invasion if they know they can’t just fire rockets at them to destroy it all.

Plus they’ve already accidentally hit Japan in Okinawa, so I’m guessing if the invasion were to happen Japan is probably gonna come back up Taiwan. And remember, all Taiwan needs is a single missile to hit the three gorges dam and destroy 10% of china’s infrastructure in a single blow
