The great filter strikes again

We were so close, the atomic age dawned, bountiful, clean energy was our future. Nuclear powered ships, homes, cars, exploring the solar system, colonizing the moon. It was all within reach.
>muh radiation
We cucked out, and now civilization if falling off a cliff. We burn oil, trash the earth, everyone is infested with microplastics and infertile. We were so close...

In another timeline the Library of Alexandria was never burned down, and ancient Greek Renaissance made internal combustion engines which they realized is not as good as a nuclear fission engine, ancient Romans made fusion engines and Genghis Khan colonized Mars.

Well, nigger, BP and Shell need you buying that oil.

Fun fact, digital camera technology was developed 20 years before the first devices were made.
>why?
Kodak did it. They realized it would destroy their film business. So the technology was buried.
That's just one example of a thing happening every day in every industry.

There is still time, we just need to build 1031 nuclear reactors per year.

How much does Shell pay you?

Now comes the sad part.
>they don't pay him anything
>their psyop was so successful
>he does it for free

>There is still time, we just need to build 1031 nuclear reactors per year.

should be easy, why dont we just get started?

is it green activists try to stop us?

amusing little calculation, would make a good topic for a high school science class to poke holes in it

i would start with the assertion that energy use per capita doubles for the next 45 years

and then look at the solar irradiance of 1kw/m^2 and the fact that solar PV cells are now at 30% efficiency

You guessed right.

I don't even believe oil will last much longer, or that climate change will kill us.

Energy Apocalypse will be human undoing. Yet another failed civilization in our universe that is the graveyard of such civilizations which mismanaged energy.

Now you know why Fermi's paradox exists

It's amazing how easy the people that claim to want to save the planet from fossil fuel use are manipulated into fossil fuel reliance because they are scared of le magic rocks.

Solar is not even a drop in the ocean currently.

>library of alexandria
That shit was a mess even before it was burned down. Alexandria went into disrepair long before the romans, the library was left mostly forgotten and it's believed that most of their manuscripts were heavily damaged because they was little incentive to keep the knowledge of some random papyrus. It's sad, but it's the true. A library is only compatible with a golden age, "useless" knowledge is not kept when basic knowledge is the only thing required for survival.
The library of Alexandria is a story that may repeat itself soon if we don't go full nuclear. Once shit go down and we end fighting for scraps of energy, there won't be anybody left to keep the knowledge of the cosmos or even the atom.

How do you plan to replace 150 petawatthours with nuclear energy?

You will need 40k nuclear reactors. The world only has ~439 nuclear reactors.

In any civ game this is time to give up.

Do micro reactors count? They are easier, cheaper and faster to build. Sure, they don't produce as much energy, but they can be quickly installed and manufactured somewhere else in high quantities.

are you a retard? its not like this shit has to be replaced overnight, oil will literally never run out and anthropogenic climate change is not real

Yes all of it counts. Just need to replace 150 petawatthours. Anything to make it happen.

I agree anthropogenic climate change is not real.

But Energy Apocalypse is upon us.

If we execute all anti nuclear power persons now we could save human civilization.

>kill niggers
>return the entirety of the african continent to monkey, no more energy wasted there, expected energy demand is greatly reduced
>kill half of the poos, expected energy demand is greatly reduced
>kill jews (mostly for fun) so they don't waste energy
>kill ecofaggots (which are mostly jews)
>build a gorillion micro nuclear plants
>build many nuclear power plants
>use breeder reactors
>where possible, use geothermal and hydroelectric. Disregard "nature".

interesting graph but should be normalized to per capita and projected with population projections

Climate change is real you dum dum, but you are right about the energy apocalypse.
The real problem is very simple:
People use way too much energy. Much more than is justified, appropriate or sustainable.
But I'm no Kacynski. Depopulation it is.

> per capita

Why so you can strap a nuclear reactor onto each person? How will that change total consumption?

> population projections

When world GDP falls due to lack of energy, people will die naturally. But that just shows we failed as a species.
