I only barelly followed sandy hook thing as it happened in real time, so correct me if my thinking is wrong:
Even if he didn't personally encourage anyone to attack and harass the parents, he should have known it will happen, after he repeatedly called them actors and frauds. It's okay to cover a story without knowing all the facts, and then changing your opinion as time goes on - all news networks do that. However, one should really think about how bad would it be, if the shit you say turns out to be wrong. And in this particular case, EVEN if he was right (which I don't know), it's was obviously going to be a massive shitshow. I can't understand why they ran on that story so hard and kept talking about it for quite some time. Staged shooting is not even as interesting as most of his other stuff, besides, even if this one's fake, there's still a ton of real shootings so why make SUCH a big deal and burry yourself like that.
Especially when he alredy knew, how the media missrepresents him, and he gave them such a low hanging fruit - Alex Jones calls the sandy hook kids' parents actors and frauds, his followers are doxxing and harassing them.
Such a stupid hill to die on.
