The world primarily values women for their appearance and ability to be mothers. Now add in a system with instant feedback on your value to society. on those standards (Instagram, Facebook,etc.) and you have mass unhappiness.

This is literally the reason. At its core, feminism is a nihilistic victim cult. Perhaps more importantly, feminism dissuades and shames when from doing things once made women happy. Having children, caring for children, keeping the household in order etc.
