Did the test subjects fare worse than the control group when exposed to coronaviruses after vaccination or something? Like an immune degradation? I feel like I read somewhere that some viruses they've tried to make vaccines for ended with the vaccine recipient being more vulnerable to the disease afterwards, especially with rapidly mutating viruses. I can't seem to find information on all previous attempts. Only articles about how the new vaccines are safe. It's weird

Before the covid outbreak I was under the impression that it was common knowledge that we would never be able to develop an effective vaccine against coronaviruses for the simple fact that they mutate too frequently. I read all the time and I'm a sponge for useless information but I really thought this was well known, at least among those in the field. You're right about the SARS and MERS tests-- in both cases researchers found that the vaccines being trialed caused antibody-dependent enhancement. I don't feel like digging through my covid folder right now but most of this stuff has been buried under all the covid stuff. I gave up on collecting all this info because I've already made up my mind and so has pretty much everyone else. No one cares about facts anymore anyway, the vaccine works if you believe it works.

It's not my field but my understanding is that coronaviruses undergo frequent superficial modifications to their protein sheath which are sufficient to avoid being bound by the antibodies, which would also explain what you said about the immune system using a different mechanism, although I don't know exactly what you're referring to so I wish you would explain in more detail
