I also think that people often misunderstand paganism as strictly "polytheistic" even though lots of "pagan" religions believe in a supreme God or reality like Brahman/The Absolute/The All, and all the other gods as manifestations or aspects of this supreme existence. Likewise, some Angels really do seem very similar to some pagan gods in function and aesthetic, like for example, Gabriel being quite evocative of Hermes. It's a complicated topic, honestly.
