Way too many churches, and not just the catholics, have allowed the spirit of false religion to enter. The spirit of false religion is that of the pharisee, the teaching of the law (scripture) while holding the Spirit as some unattainable oddity. Very few teach of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And even fewer teach that in order to grow in the Spirit one must, by necessity, live by the words of Jesus Christ. Not read them, not memorize them, but actively incorporate them into your life. If your church doesn't teach that, reinforce it, and show irl examples of how to do it, then what they teach is false doctrine.
