If you plan to live beyond 2037, Social Security as is will have a net balance of $0 and distributions will only be proportionate to what is injected monthly by paycheck deductions. The system cannot be relied upon and a smart person would build up their own cushion for their dying years.

Ordinarilly, I would point out your differing sexual preferences and whatnot, but I just got my SSDI pulled for not returning "update on your permanent condition" paperwork (I didn't want to sign a release that would indicate vax and other medical statuses), and although my Military dissability is still in effect, the last two years, my local township has been "misplacing" my dissabled veteran property tax waver, requiring no more than me calling them (to show that I exist and am competent enough to respond, lest they start charging me phantom tax, and then repo the house. I'm sure this is how they asset strip old people, but my point is that the government is getting really motivated to collect and keep money all the sudden).

I've been waiting for SSDI approval for ~2 years even with attorney representation. Finally at SSA judge level. Denied due to date of disability, but the date is well within range.

Yes, Especially if you're not of a preferred demographic. I was fortunate enough that I was unable to really function at all at that point, and some volunteer organization helped me do the paperwork. It's possible that there may be a local office situation too, as everything was a breeze when I got into the system, and people were flexible and went out of their way to help.
That was in Kansas. Hell, they even gave me a dissabled licenseplate. Then I moved to Michigan, and they make faces and shit "What are you asking for that for? You can walk.", and pretty much heavy skepticism, because this is a democrat zone. People are fighting over the last remaining scraps of a prosperous region that they inherited from those who made it, and nobody wants to put anything back in here.

i have a shit load of musculo-skletal problems that's easy to see via surgeries, etc. Spent years trying to sort medical out before filing.
They punted me to some guy/company in OK to review data and denied on 'coverage expired before disabled'. Even though that's not the case.
Appeal denied.
Now facing judge review.
Gf is working on her own disability paperwork. Convinced her to get gibs while you can. They're gonna make it even harder in the future. Too many takers. I live in a black hood and everyone is on disability here even though they are not disabled. Me, the legit disabled, gets nothing.
