The sad case of the killed Ayleen (14) - on Monday, investigators announced details of the terrible crime.
According to the police and public prosecutor's office, a 29-year-old German was arrested on strong suspicion. He is said to have killed the girl more than a week ago and dumped the body in a lake in Hesse.
According to investigators, the suspect is known to the police. He committed an attempted sexual offense in 2007, was then placed in a psychiatric hospital for ten years – he was released in 2017.
Items of clothing from Ayleen in the man's apartment finally convicted him. An investigating judge issued an arrest warrant for the 29-year-old.
It has not yet been determined how Ayleen died. Freiburg's Chief Public Prosecutor Dieter Inhofer: "The long period of stay made the forensic examination more difficult."
During interrogations, the accused denied having anything to do with the crime and kept silent to the magistrate.
Franziska Scheuble, investigating senior public prosecutor in Freiburg: "The charges are: confiscation of minors, sexual assault and murder with intent to cover up."
In 2007, the killer tried to rape an 11-year-old
According to Andreas Röhrig, President of the LKA Hessen, the suspect attacked an 11-year-old girl from behind at the age of 14. In 2007 he was convicted of attempted sexual abuse in conjunction with aggravated assault and attempted rape.
The man was finally released ten years later, but was then placed under supervision. Röhrig: "This was on 25.01. finally ended this year. After five years that is the norm here in Hesse.”
"We had no chance of recovering Ayleen alive," the police commissioner concluded.
