you need to leave this board and go talk to women lol. anyone over 20 and here unironically is too far gone. but theres hope for you to be a well adjusted person

lycos and geocities and angelfire and the other one
bunch of fuckhead fan pages for everything and anything
loved it

ye sbut take his advice

No. It was a cesspool of porn, viruses, and bigotry.

you could fire up your toaster and wait for it to finish and the webpage you're visiting would still be loading images

56k modem checking in. The 3mb webm I attached should load in about 20 minutes

Far, far less nogs and normies, for starters. That alone should say something.

Only kikes and fags hated it. Anyone who liked freedom of speech and information loved it.

Yeah, 95% of the people online were white dudes
It was much better

yes and no. there was less centralization and homogeneity, you wouldnt just visit the same few mega sites for the most part but would go to various smaller sites, hobbyist forums, niche user made html pages, but everything was slow as shit. no videos, images and mp3s took 20 minutes to load

It was full of porn, cp, degenerates, scammers, virus, but was the best internet.

yes

No it was slow and there was hardly anything on it
Very little coomer material either

Napster was peak internet. After the music industry saw massive losses the corporations set out to destroy the last frontier.

Webm didn't even exist in the 56k days did it? Thought it was all java and flash files. WAV too I guess.

that sweet dial up sound lol...

Old Internet was better because it was exclusively for nerds who wanted to autistically find niche stuff. I wouldn't say I would go back to it compared to just blasting the whole world with an EMP.

Yes. There was free music, movies and tasteful softcore porn everywhere.

mov, avi, mpeg

You have no idea.

The early to mid 2000s may've been slow, but everyone was off in their own little corner of the internet, usually hobby forums, while periodically congregating on a few megasites. It was like everyone having their own small town and periodically going into the city when the need arose instead of the endless urban sprawl the internet is now, if you want to keep the metaphor.

It was the "wild west" back then

Now it's CENTRALIZED

The internet has been CONSOLIDATED into "platforms" run by big tech companies and their glownigger handlers.

The use censorship and AI to control the content and ultimately what people think.

2008 was the downfall with smartphones and Facebook because only idiots browse the internet on phones

Talking to women will cause him to discover that the vast majority of 'modern' women are useless twits, so your suggestion would just redpill him faster. Fyi.

I'm an oldfag. One of my first interactions on the internet was when I was 11 or 12. I had signed onto AOL. I went to the "Teen Chatroom". I felt I still qualified because I had double digit age even if the number didn't end in -teen. There used to be a thing called A/S/L checks where users would post their Age/sex/and location. During one of these I disclosed that I was a 12 year old male. I got a private message from a user who claimed to be a 16 year old male. He ask me if I like motorcycles. I said they were cool. He then told me he had motorcycle. Next he proceeded to recount a story of how he went riding with his friend once, got to a secluded area and then proceeded to 'swallow his dick'.

The internet was all one big Any Forums. You could by drugs on the clearnet with credit cards. You could mine Bitcoin with a pair of Radeon x1600 256MB cards in crossfire (this was near the end). Everyone was a nigger or a faggot. It was a truly special time.

also, kys zoomer faggot

Yes niggers couldnt afford a computer and tons of women wanted to meet someone outside of their local circles to date/fuck, now even people in 3rd world shitholes have a computer and are online

Yes. But at the same time some Information is easier to find now.

it did not. the .mov file format was a huge deal when it came out like 30 years ago

I started in 2005 (not that early but early enough imo)

I first heard of youtube because that was where my classmates would go to post their fights, the whole idea of subscribing was odd, the people that posted weren't whoring themselves for money and most did whatever the fuck they wanted unlike now, fuck jew tube

i used the internet mainly to see gore videos, learn about aliens, secret societies, look at pictures of different super saiyans, and google was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better, whatever you were looking for you would find

Yes. A lot less content but it was the Wild West.

infinitely

Yes. It was slower, but the dial up noise was actually kinda cool. A lot less faggotry. Less HD and content but also less fags and kikes and shitskins. Less monopolization, too.

Strange, I had no idea it went back to the early 60's

literal retards replying to the same bot thread that's posted every day

Yes and no. It was slow as fuck but more fun

No. There's alot that sucks about the current internet but you can pretty much get any information you want with the click of a few buttons for free and fast. There was less available back in the day.

Way better. Women and niggers weren't smart enough to use it. The iPhone ruined everything.

>not knowing the joyful sound of dial up internet
sad.

You faggots never got to experience the computer aids/Russian roulette that was Limewire. God damn there was some foul shit in there.

The same shit posts over and over. I hate my life.

No, just slower. Message boards and chat rooms have always been terrible

>No social media
>Everyone uses a fake name with a bunch of numbers and Xs in it
>Lawless chat rooms.
>Ten gorillion popups and no adblock
>Video games have server lists so you can find a community that suits you instead of being tossed into the pool with everyone

It was more beautiful than you can possibly imagine. But the corporations took it from us and ran it into the fucking ground

I played counterstrike beta 6 on that Compaq with a 56k modem. I think I put an aftermarket AGP nvidia card in there. 64mb of VRAM I think. Possibly 32

that's most things.
sense of adventure vs mainstreamed ride.

I'm sorry your parents didn't pay enough attention to you as a child, so you ended up a loveless memeflaggot mass-replying to feel any human connection at all.
I would tell you not to reproduce, but there was never any chance of you doing that, was there?
Goodbye.

I remember the first time I got broadband in 1998, I felt like a god

Web 1.0 was so incredible. Anyone could set up a website on Angelfire or GeoCities. Instead of a top down controlled internet, you identified yourself with a website of your own, that you design, and have total control of content. There were no faggots monitoring your content, you could say anything. Webrings were the era's FB Groups. There was a window there were we could have went down a timeline where HTML could have been required learning, and instead of a world where your online soul is gulag'd into fuckerberg orderly parameters, your online soul would be a full creation of your own, in every way. HTML could have been a new global language, but unfortunately the internet blossomed at a time that the simulacra was at its peak, and we got hoodwinked into the honkworld were in now.

It felt like there were people in it instead of bots and retards groomed by bots to form organic botnets. So yes, it was better. Now its a machine and so are you, the perfect consumer by design in a transitional period until they don't need you to consume anymore.

>go talk to women
>suffer more
Whats the difference?

And you are here forever.

You had to dial in to a phone number every time you used it

webm is very recent, 2010s

Hey fuck you buddy I got a wife and a teen son. I ain’t too far gone, in fact I redpilled my family with the shit I got from here.

Sometimes the person you like likes you back. sometimes they dont. it's ok, life goes on because most people don't put their eggs in the same basket and have many options. only actual losers (hate to use the term incel) feel this sense of "suffering" from women not liking them back.

>Was the old Internet better than now?

The average IQ of the Internet has dropped from 140 to 95 in about 25 years

But guess what faggot. I'm not here everyday. You are hahaha loser.

way better. it was pure information, almost entirely text a few pics and avi files, but basically just information.

That’s fair.

Do you prescribe to dead internet theory?

It was cool, weird as fuck, especially in the BBS days.
You would dial to landlines directly from lists you would get from buddies.
At 2400 baud it would take 2 days to get space quest.
I was 9 at the time, I was living in the US (my dad was a diplomat).
Got a list, dialed the BBS, was looking for sim earth, chatted with a weirdo, got the game.
2 months later, weirdo calls me, he tells me he is 40, plays sim earth all day.
Got to a point where ostriches evolved, he went off planet with them and whores.
He raped and killed them.
Dude kepg calling me with weird shit
Told my parents, they cut my phone
