Neat picture, but many problems with that setting.

- House made of wood (fuel) surrounded by trees (also fuel) way too close to house.

- Gas street lantern, so likely clay methane pipes that by now would be cracked and leaking methane.

- Most of roof sloped correctly for snow, but porch roof cover is not sloped right so some poor bastard will have to clean that daily or it will eventually rot and collapse.

- Brick chimneys. Looks nice but they fall apart in 30+ years and have to be entirely replaced. If not fixed right away, leads to water leakage, bats getting in, mold, fungus, bat shit, cold air.

- Nothing about this is energy efficient.

- Snowman has a dildo in his face and a witch broom. He will never get his fat ass on that shitty harry-potter knock-off.

Only tangentially related, but I watched a youtube video about this painting this painting the other day. Apparently, a lot of people think it's the greatest painting ever mde. It's Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez. What does Any Forums think?

It's a painting of a guy painting a portrait from the perspective of the portrait subjects. I guess it was incredibly ground breaking at the time.

Several things, but most notably it is from the perspective of the King and Queen of Spain who are only depicted in the mirror in the back of room, an artistic device that had never been used up until that point. It's almost as if the King and Queen are taking a photograph of the room.

It's really not art, it's product. Like anything at a craft show with variations on colors or layouts that use the same technique. But that doesnt mean you cant enjoy it and hang it on your wall. Just know that if you bought a giclee print from the mall, you're no better than someone with a poster of some french painting on their wall. Taste is subjective.

Its a personality type. They hate orderliness and love chaos. The subtext of all kincaid's art is and orderly, peaceful society where people have the comfort of knowing their place in it and the landscapes and architecture reflect the calming assurance. They prefer the madness and disorder of pollock, or the schizophrenia of basquiat and warhol.

Art is gay and pretentious, no one cares about "art" anymore besides other artfags who jerk each other off, this guy died wealthy while most artist die poor.

That is a fair criticism and probably why I don't really like his work. You've seen one you've seen them all. That being said it sure makes faggots mad when whites buy them so for that I will appreciate his work. My parents have a series of paintings by G. Harvey that I enjoy more because they have more variety and depict happy families.

because they believe that in order for something to be good that someone else must be suffering. So when they see how serene and peaceful idyllic American living is portrayed in his paintings they unironically hallucinate that it is depicting genocide, slavery, racism, etc etc. That plus genuine envy at the idea that others can be happy at the expense of noone else.

although this one painting really is just awful. But most of his stuff is unironically good.
