This kind of thinking is what erodes church attendance: when you soften religion, make everything "okay" and "safe," stop condemning sin, and preach nothing but universal love, people stop attending church. After all, if everything's okay, then it must be okay not to go to church. You'll never get fedora-clad atheists to give up their arrogance and go to church, not even by driving God out of church to change it into a kumbaya safe space. You'll just drive away the people who are looking for moral certainty and a God to believe in. The future of Christianity lies in maintaining the values and traditions and beliefs of its past, not in conforming to the degeneracy of the present.
