This morning, we changed over one of the first speed limit signs in SLC from 25 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour.
Feeling safe on our local streets and sidewalks is something that must be a priority.
Over the next few weeks our teams will install 575 new 20 miles per hour signs throughout Salt Lake City’s neighborhoods. This will cover about 70% of the City’s public streets.
These signs will signal to drivers in our City that we want our kids to get to school safely. We want our neighbors to make it home from work.
jesus fucking christ, i only go into salt lake city about once a fucking year and now i have to go even fucking SLOWER? as if i ever get up to 25 anywhere but falling into one of the fucking potholes
Jeremiah King
you dont need speed limits, people will drive as safe as they feel on any given road. if you want to force a certain speed, neighborhood roads can have choke points or cones and other things that psychologically suggest to drivers to drive slow. ...althought this only works when there are no niggers
Evan Kelly
I’m sure that will stop Dayquan in his 12 year old Nissan Altima from just going 60 anyway
Noah Perry
Her brother or cousin probably owns the sign manufacturing buisness
>Wearing a mask in 2022 outside Says a lot about the people who support this

I thought local councils in Australia were bad, this is ridiculous, how the fuck are you supposed to get anywhere considering that white Northern Europeans love to signal their virtue by complying with every singls law and regulation the nanny state imposes on them.
Alexander Rivera
Salt Lake City is just 5 to 10 years behind Denver in terms of being a complete globohomo hell zone. The Mormons are completely cucked and brainwashed. SLC will be 30% white within 20 years.

I'm sure she changed this sign and wasn't just handed it for the photo op after a city worker did the actual work.

>people will drive as safe as they feel on any given road I think the reason isn't so much to stop rational safe drivers from speeding as it is to stop the occasional hooligan that wants to go 100mph through the suburbs because he's retarded. Then the cops can impose the threat that there could be speed cameras anywhere any time etc which deters the hooligan
Oliver Myers
what a simple and frustrating way to create jobs and generate income for sign manufacturers
Tyler Cook
is everyone over there this dumb?
Austin Richardson
This has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with lowering the threshold for cops to write speeding tickets.
Jeremiah Adams
This is how just about everything law related works. Everyone gets restricted because of a couple of bad people.
Lincoln Bennett
>security theater, but with a 20% decrease to an already low speed limit I bet these politicians think they've actually accomplished something.
Liam Thompson
Nah, they'll be mestizos, or more accurately "ladinos" since that's the Central American term for mestizos and Utah is currently being swarmed by Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Nicaraguans. What a fucking shithole. I hope they run out of water.
>lowering the threshold for cops to write speeding tickets. Revenue raising is part of it yeah, like a bonus for the cops I guess, would be good if they didn't do that. But we still need some restrictions to stop crazy people that go crazy
Logan Howard
With women in control of politics, men will be deprived freedom and liberty to prioritize women’s desire for safety and security.
Gabriel Young
I can't imagine this will make much of a difference because 25 is already slow enough. But whatever makes the suburban karens living in their bubble feel safer.
Joshua Bennett
Is dayquan a negro or a chinaman? I cant tell
Parker Richardson
Crazy people don't give a fuck about signs.
Jack Garcia
It has nothing to do with safety, it's a revenue builder. It's to set up speed traps in neighborhoods where the locals are used to driving 25. Salt Lake will make money hand over fist for a couple months, till drivers get used to the new speed limit.
Lucas Thompson
No I mean the threat of them getting busted by the cops acts as a deterrent. If there were no speed limits at all then the cops wouldn't have any right to bust people for speeding and then the crazy people could do whatever they wanted. I'm not talking like literal crazy people I mean just stupid teenagers that just got their license etc
Evan Campbell
are they allowed to just change the speed limit like that? Who sets the speed limits?
Brody Collins
imagine following the law anymore
Noah Edwards
Yep, they'll post a small 2x2" ad somewhere in an obscure local paper, that will qualify as an announcement to the public.
They did this in a town I used to work in, lowered the school zones from 25 to 20. I didn't know about it till I got stopped. The only speeding ticked I've ever had was for doing 27 in a 20. Instant $150 bucks for city hall.
Gabriel Roberts
1. Changing the limit from 25 to 20 isn't going to factor into the decision of a 100mph driver 2. There are plenty of roads 60-80mph that are plenty safe at 100mph.
Nicholas Jackson
It definitely does have to do with safety. Slower driving = safer driving. Simple as. I am looking forward to those automatic speed lowering devices in all cars in the E.U.
