Has anybody else noticed that takeout and restaurant foods usually tastes bad now? The last few times I’ve gotten takeout, even from places with clean food, it has still tasted off. It’s like there is something wrong with the ingredients. A lot of stuff has this weird bitter flavor.
Thankfully the organic chicken and grass fed beef I buy from the market still tastes good, as do the potatoes and other veg. Deenz are of course reliable as always.

As someone who works in a kitchen. Business is in decline so staff cool food and then just leave it out till you casually stroll in to get it. They are too retarded to just cook less and time things better. They just want to stand their and talk to one another till closing.

i do not order food. but i know from my experience that one particular italian pizzeria over here, a really good one not run by fuckniggers but real italians known around town and maybe beyond for their authentic food, did really almost ruin their output lately. this happend in the last months. i do not have large samplesize, in fact i have none, but this is/can be one reason. i talk about real food real ingredients done by a real chef not some half ready lets make it warm bs. it tasted just less refined and cheaper basically or more standardized. i do know nothing about the situation in the states

Supply chain issues and inflation is causing restaurants to alter ingredients or remove menu items altogether. Aioli/mayo will taste different if they switch oils. If that’s the base of a sauce, it will taste a little different. Maybe they’re switching from fresh fish or meat to frozen. Maybe the vegetables get stuck in transit longer and are no longer fresh. Maybe they have new and inexperienced cooks. Maybe they’re taking shortcuts, like boiling meat before smoking it briefly rather than slow cooking.
