Stoves are neat but then you realize that you spend more time gathering wood and tinder to keep the fires burning. Nice and nostalgic, but a pain in the ass.

Germany descending into power insecurity, and the subsequent economic contraction, will depress your country's standard of living.
Whether or not you consider that a bad thing is up to you.

What does your industries use? You might not freeze directly but when you cannot afford to pay for it because everything else that requires the use of gas has put up their prices to compensate then you might indirectly suffer. And if all else fails your women can just have sex with refugees to keep warm.

3% of them use natural gas and that gas comes from Norway and Denmark anyway.

Here in the 21st century we have underfloor heating powered by renewable energy. We'll be OK.

The big concern here is that gas shortages will affect the most important industry of all - Döner kebabs. If Ivan takes away our Döner, there will be HELL to pay.

And you're proud of that?

tfw im a terrone and in winter it never goes below 5 degree celsius must suck to be a snownigger

Gathering wood ? You either do your own logs (in spring) or order the amount required for the winter. Thats how it works here. They will bring the logs to your place with a truck and then you just pile up and store them for winter usage. Logs are big business here, not something you "gather".

weird, all of a sudden I actually understand the

>what is coal
and how's electricity made again?

Eh not really as long as you have some equipment so that you aren't splitting everything by hand.
Spend a few weeks in spring to make enough firewood for the winter and have it dry up in the summer. Bonuspoints for loading them up in either sacks or pallets so they're extra easy to transport in winter.

>Live in a warm subtropical climate
>Literally never have to a use heater once ever, just close the door and put a jumper on
>It's still not even that hot in summer, air con not really needed summer days except in heatwave
>Run the aircon about ~50% of summer nights because I want a good sleep but isn't strictly necessary if you're willing to just put up sleeping with only a sheet and fan

who /low electricity/ here

I have been chopping tremendous amounts of wood this summer, even if they cut off all electricity for the whole winter, gas, whatever I will be warm as a babe in his mothers arms

That's a nice lifestyle. I'd like to try that one day.

Just wear extra sweaters going outside and extra blankets when you sleep. Its not that serious
