Story time:
I visited Guatemala about 15 years ago, and I was driven through it by a well spoken native who had political aspirations. I noticed that along the roads in the countryside were random people sitting around and watching us motor by,dull eyed and unconcerned with our passing. I saw there were a lot of young children with them,and when I asked my driver about them,he said that these were the very poor and they had nothing else to occupy their time. If they were so poor,then why were they breeding? I had to ask,seeing these wretched kids and recalling Sally Stuthers and her Save the Children commercials with these same children as bait for the charity. I was told that they have nothing better to do than have sex and make more unfortunates to starve right along with their parents. Being Catholic, birth control was not an option for them. But I suggested that as a guy hoping to make his country better, maybe he should introduce some secret plans to curb the population explosion, like giving injections to the women who wanted to stop making starving children, telling their husbands that they were getting vitamins for healthier babies while really getting something that prevents pregnancy. The driver laughed at the suggestion. So they will continue to breed and starve.
