Let's have one good old classic of the board: which chinese cartoons would you suggest to a fellow Any Forums user? Even better if they have political messages, or to show how pre-pozzed escapism looked like as a comparison with modern medias
I have not watched a single anime in my life. I am a very open minded person. I appreciate good cinematography, complex characters and storytelling. Please recommend a newbie something that I'd enjoy.
Keep in mind I don't like the super Japanese anime that insists upon itself that it's japanese. I want something that can pass as Western animation.

What kind/genres of stories you like? There is basically an anime for any possible flavor
Nevermind, i would suggest Legend of the Galactic Heroes. A very unique anime that act more than an historian documentary about an epic war in the far future, and the purging of degeneracy within society Extremellly well liked by both Any Forums and Any Forums, and notorious for a small devoted fanbase
Patlabor and Ghost in the Shell >Patlabor Watch the OVAs and then 3 movies. Watch the 50 episodes TV series if you want more of the same but less serious >Ghost in the Shell Watch the movies and then Stand Alone Complex series

Yes, thanks. As I said, I like Western animation more, because I'm more familiar to it. Anime is new to me, I want something more of a "western" anime if you catch my drift.

For me, althought it's not as popular nowadays as it was in the 90s, Slayers is good. It's a commedy/fantasy anime that make fun of the typical Dungeons and Dragons sessions adventures, while being consistent with the internal worldbuilding. Suggested if you like both traditional fantasy and humor
Saga of the Tanya the evil is incredibly based I think all 4channers will enjoy it.
Berserk. Berserk. Berserk. The original. Gutts and his stoic chadlike existence are excellent stories... and there is absolutely no lighthearted bullshit silly content at all.
Pol users will also thoroughly enjoy attack on titan it gets very political.
Vinland saga, a story of a boy turning into viking warrior chad..Chad... and his journey through life among savages, Christians, vermin, and good. Once again.. askeladd the viking.. great extremely great character a villain technically but by the time you have seen all of what he does.. a villain you love.. at times... a hero. And.. once again.. based.

>Cowboy Bepop I have heard of the Jazz from that show. It sounds wonderful.
