Fusion power is coming sooner than most expect...

Fusion power is coming sooner than most expect. In a world that runs on petro the entire political order will be thrown into disorder.
Who will come out on top?

Oh cool, so in the next 1,000 years rather than in the next 9,001 years?

Tell me how you make PVC with fusion, moron.

Chink's sustained a fusion reactor for over 1000 seconds already. Its here, just not in the west, which is entirely suicidal with no future.

The meme of fusion always being 50 years away is kind of over ,
For whatever reason the past three years have seen a bunch of breakthroughs in fusion research.

Damn, that's pretty cool. We gotta get ourselves one of them.

I guarantee those fucks will destroy everything about this just to keep the world chugging along on their bullshit for a while longer.

> just 20 more years!

No, but really, this would be great news. Would justify electric cars, eg.

Petro will still be the portable fuel of choice until they get hydrogen into production.
It's going to be decades, and politically the world is already in turmoil so hydrogen might not happen world wide in your lifetime.
The zoomers will have fixed the world right before they die off and it will run on the honor system.

Lucky for you there are lots of chinks to go around.

even with clean power how would that bypass the need to cleanly store it?

SAFIRE can already do it, but it well never become mainstream, because they are not part of the "club".

You have entire economies dependant on exporting oil and natural gas like in the middleast. Electrical cars won't replace gasoline powered ones overnight but I imagine the transition would not be a pleasant one even if done slowly since those countries would make political calculations on the premise that they are living on borrowed time.

>Chink's sustained a fusion reactor for over 1000 seconds already
Oh is that what's this is about? Sure well done China I guess however just sustaining a fusion reaction doesn't suddenly mean fusion power. The big problems are getting more power out than you put in and also how to actually convert this energy into electricity for a power plant. These are things being worked on by ITER in Europe (and previously in places like the JET). You're right that it's not happening in America. Wrong that it's not happening in the west.

Fusion can't pay the maintenance cost of civilization or fix the fact that it's entire industry is based on liquid fuels. I will repeat it again for retards in the back. The simple maintenance cost of maintaining civilizations complexity is too high to pay in terms of liquid fuels and limited resources. You could have fusion go live tomorrow and it wouldn't make a difference and this will still take decades. While the indulgent suicidal west tries to improves it's image with the tech the rest of the shithole world will be using anything and everything it can. People who believe in fairytale solutions are bigger scumbags than just about anyone.

Breakthroughs such as?

It will probably be shelved soon because it supports electric universe theory and can be used to remediate nuclear waste which is a threat to lobbyist and oil cartels.

Don't bullshit. A year ago it was a fucking newsworthy feat to sustain the reaction for 100 seconds, now we're 10x that. Fact is that fusion reactors are making enormous strides, but no European or Western power is seriously investing in it to the degree that bugoid Chinks have.

Hmm... these guys must be on to something because one of the first video that comes up in suggested is Professor Dave video.

Back in December National Ignition Facility submitted a paper that showed a reaction that produced more energy than was absorbed.

Never seen this before. Looks extremely cool. Got any more info on it?

lol NIF is just nuclear weapons research

This massive thing is currently about half built. When they finally turn it on it promises to do some pretty amazing things.

PVC is exactly why it sucks to burn petrol. Retarded to burn earth's magic substance from which we can make almost anything.
