Mechanical engineers at Rice University have figured out a way to turn dead spiders into "arachnoborgs" by injecting them with soft robotic materials. Their corpses have the "perfect architecture" for re-purposing that hasn't been used before and has a lot of potential.
Arachnoborgs will be indistinguishable from living spiders and could easily be controlled by wi-fi software.
According to the University of Georgia, giant spiders the size of your palm are set to parachute from the sky all over the Eastern United States this summer. The massive blue, black, and yellow arachnids, called Joro spiders, are set to "be all over power lines, in trees around town and even on your front porch come summer"
