A lot of this stuff is public and there are some books on the subject. You can read for about Stakeknife (codename for a spy that got to a high level).
What's particularly bad is the glowniggers seemed to know of Omagh in advance and did nothing. From kikeypedia:

David Rupert, an American citizen, was jointly run as an agent by MI5 and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). On 11 August 1998, four days before the bombing, Rupert informed his MI5 handlers that the Real IRA was planning a car bomb attack in Omagh or Derry. It is not known whether this information was passed to the RUC Special Branch.
The Gardaí also had their own agent close to the Real IRA at the time, Paddy Dixon, who stole cars that were used by the group to transport bombs. Days before the bombing, the Real IRA had Dixon steal the car used in the attack. Dixon immediately told his handler, Detective Sergeant John White. On 12 August, White passed this on to his superior, Detective Chief Superintendent Dermot Jennings. According to White, Jennings told him that they would let the bomb go through, mainly so that the Real IRA would not become suspicious of Dixon.
In 2003, a transcript of a conversation between Dixon and White was released. In it, Dixon confirms that Gardaí let the bomb go through and says that, "Omagh is going to blow up in their faces"

I found pic related more useful. Also you can get your hands on the original handbook by the IRA themselves: Handbook for Volunteers of the Irish Republican Army: Notes on Guerrilla Warfare. There is also a handbook from the original war for independence in the republic which is also good (even though it's more dated).
Basically a good rule of thumb is to avoid shit that wasn't written by a white person. I also recommend reading stuff on US Military tactics for counter insurgency (to know thy enemy). It's not all applicable since a lot of the time they're fighting browns or gooks. Still worth a read if written by white guys with actual combat experience though.
You can safely discard shit written by Mao or any of the other jungle gooks on guerrilla tactics. It's because they're often romanticised after the fact and they were willing to sustain losses of 10 to 1. Tactics used by the IRA/ETA are much more efficient and require less people.

Stuff that got people killed was shit like spies leaking infomation to glowniggers who then got the SAS to light them up. They were careful not to give the game away.
The only thing a lot of these books might be missing is proper update for infosec for the modern era (for smartphones/websites/modern cars). Back in the 90s, cars were 'dumb', and yeah people knew phones could be tapped but not many people knew that GCHQ could do it in real time (allegedly, they can certainly do it now). People always thought things had to be 'bugged' and recordings would mean a time delay to retrieve/listen (as far as I know that was only true with the likes of regular law enforcement that had to get warrants and the like).
