It's true. If you don't have a decent chance at things that used to be a given; you may as well be a barbarian. Once you are a barbarian though you can't ask anything of society. No more illusions of reciprocity. You have to look at the face of death and be okay with it.

But doing that is doing it alone, with no chance of actually succeeding, living with a spirit in a world that asks for submission and superficial comforts, a world where being part of something greater than ourselves means to stop living and fight for it, but no human strength can make the world that utopia, the end goal of our life is peace and family, and many people will never have either of those.
So to live for a lie or die for one is equally valueless as long as you ask for a higher meaning, just live and try to find the best you can, to get as close to that utopia.

The point you are missing is that alot of men no longer accept "muh holes!" as all a woman needs to bring to the table to be worth a man's time. The ever growing laundry list of requirements a woman has for an equally attractive man is becoming off putting to men who are looking for a woman to share their lives with.
