Was his show accurate and did it predict anything or expose things? Or just bullshit?

He had all kinds of guests on. Some were completely full of shit. Others...
it started out pretty cool. it was basically a current events unscreened talk show. it was a bit politically centric, because everything is and that was popular then. it was also cool that did a 5 hour overnight show so it was popular with truck drivers and night people. he also broadcast from home and did the whole thing himself. the unscreened thing was supercool. literally he’d answer a line and say “you’re on the air”. he had a 5 second delay, but that was it. then he did some weird ufo/alien shit and created another show called ‘coast to coast dreamland’ (the main show was just ‘coast to coast with art bell’). dreamland went batshit and the regular show started doing the same shit. then it was all ufos/aliens/ghosts/demonic possessions/bottomless holes/what-the-fuck-ever-else. it was still pretty entertaining, but the guy started to seem less avuncular and more like a grifter. some caller would coin a term and he’d steal it. he’d indulge popular wackos and not even try to question them when he’d be hard hitting with less popular guests. he started heavily shilling a bunch of weird shit (magnetic water softeners), c crane radios, smoked salmon (it was good but there were cheaper alternatives that were just as good). i don’t mind the guy making a buck, but they didn’t just advertise, by that i mean making an ad. he’d do all the ads as his own personal experiences with the products and he’d vouch for them. originally, this wasn’t bad, but it got ridiculous. then he retired with no warning. then came back. then did it again. supposedly, at least what he said years later, is that his son was molested by a faggot and he was getting accused of it by trolls. then that trolls were saying he was slurring pinoy folks when he actually loved them. weird shit. then his wife died suddenly and he fucked off to the phillippines and married a pinoy chick. the timing was a little weird. then came back to the us. then retired/left/died.

There is a 2009 or so episode of open lines where a guy called in as a whistle-blower about Coronachan. Predicted every specific thing about it, where it came from, how it was created, that they would blame it on wierd food, that it would be used for a killer vax and to destroy the economy and increase control. Every little thing, proper names (corona/Covid, 2019, Wuhan etc.). If any autists could find the episode, it would be lock stock and barrel proof.
I was listening to a stream of old episodes on YouTube and had to pull the fuck over when the guy came on. I'm now convinced Art was killed because his memory was so good, he could regularly recall callers and stories from decades ago.
Part of me wishes he faked his death and is just living in the desert, privately. He deserves it. I admire guys who manage to become independent and create a platform, especially before YouTube and mass-internet usage.
It's fun listening to Somwhere In Time and hearing all the now dead boomers pontificate and predict great happenings during the Clinton years that ultimately went nowhere.
