I was talking to some rando about pink floyd today and i said i liked roger waters over david gilmour. The rando went wide eyed and proceeded to tell me that waters was a raging antisemite and i should be ashamed of myself for liking him.

Is he really an antisemite or was i just talking to some retard?

Only Sid Barret's Pink Floyd it's true Pink Floyd.

He suppprts BDS free palestine etc. I think he's just anti-zionist which isn't exactly a novel position

don't worry user, it was just a retard...

Syd would be on Any Forums

You should tell that guy to kill himself
fpbp, Ivan knows

I like Giles Giles and fripp better

>Nig Barret
>I stole a bike

The last concert I went to really was the last. The entire show was Waters bashing Trump. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't listened to Pink Floyd since.

Dunno if Waters is a raging antisemitic, don’t caren Gilmore was always the more talented in the group. All of waters shit is edgelord faggotry.

Fuck Russia, but this is also very much correct, so you’re ok Ivan.

He's anti-semite from the left wing way, which is that intersectionally, poor brown people have more victim points than jews, so he's pro-palestine and thus anti-israel
If he told you the reasons you were anti-semitic he would spit on you

And then eventually /x/

absolutely patrician.

Waters is antiwar, which means he has to be antizionist. He also spoke out pretty heavily for Assange. Gilmour sits in his castle all day, drives fancy cars, and drinks fancy booze. Gilmour has no principles outside of profits. Gilmour also never put out a single decent album without Waters (no, Division Bell was not good), while Amused to Death was good.

Waters is Pink Floyd, Gilmour had a good ear for sound. Syd Barrett doesn't even really belong in the conversation as I think his best work was without the rest of the band.

You can like music without liking a musician's politics.

Barrett's Pink Floyd is the best.
Pink Floyd with Roger Waters is better than Pink Floyd without him.
David Gilmour's Pink Floyd was ok, but nothing like their previous work.

Listen to the song 'Dogs' on Animals. You can add any meaning you want to it.

Thanks cunt

Waters is kinda based. Also pink Floyd sucks dick without him, division bell is garbage.

Can anyone get a webm of the part of The Wall when the news host announced that the dog named Nigger has died and the lead character grins

>I stole a bike you can buy it if you like it's got a bell and a basket and some shit to make it bix nood.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is not even close to the best Pink Floyd album. Nor is it the best album that Syd Barret wrote and performed. "Barrett" is a much better album than Piper. I mean, half the shit on Piper is literally child like nonsense attempting to make it on the top 40 charts. "Bike" "The Gnome" not to mention the shitty singles, "See Emily Play" and "Arnold Layne." I can't believe people would still listen to this shit for any reason outside of nostalgia.

Momentary Lapse of Reason was even worse. "Dogs of War" is, in my opinion, the worst song in the Pink Floyd catalog. It aged so poorly, and it wasn't good to start with.

Roger waters has 1000x more heart than Gilmour. DG is a better musician, but RW is a real artist.

>Momentary Lapse of Reason
yeah it's not their best. first album without roger waters and it was basically a david gilmour solo album in the same way that final cut was a roger waters solo album. the way they treated richard wright was pretty questionable as well
they were so wrapped up in legal stuff at the time it's amazing they found time to make any music at all

Gilmore is more musically talented but Waters pushes the envelope. Without Waters it's just a pretty song (listen to "On an island") and without Gilmore it's just looney shit and weird noises.
They came together perfectly during the best times but it didn't last. I think Lenon/McCarthy had a very similar dynamic.

the videos of mother and two suns that waters posted during lockdown are just awesome
here's a treat for anyone who hasn't seen them

You just summarized my entire perspective on the matter. I dont think its a rare opinion but for some reason a lot of people seem to have this factional way of looking at things. One just has to be better than the other.

>Sid Barret
Who?

>Is he really an antisemite or was i just talking to some retard?
You were talking to a kike, user...

All of those guys were responsible for uninspired milquetoast bitchrock/hoerock and basically Pink Floyd should’ve stopped existing when Barrett left. Just a bunch of technically sound (for the time period) untalented cornballs.

nobody likes kikes. anyone who says otherwise is lying.

>best work was without the rest of the band.
The two albums of him dribbling to himself that made Nick Wright cry?
See Emily Play was a fine send off.

No. He isn't. And no, in not sure what the person was talking about. Israel has been stealing land for decades. Anyone who utters a gasp...a whisp!....of a peep...a single whispy gasp of half a peep.protest is labeled and canceled.
Norman Finkelstein himself.
Even Jews!
Israel is out of control.
Roger Water had some... not unkind words for Trump supporters. While everyone was encouraging othets to punch and beat them. But other than that I dunno.
He's done enough for music to rest on his laurels.
Radio CHAOS and The Final Cut were great.
Two Sun's in the Sunset....*sigh*.... great song.

wow such an edgy leaf

>Nick Wright
who?
