By the time the grifters get caught, the the machinations of usury have already picked up the scam and ran with it. The bible doesn't outline a method of replication, other than living well. Science demonstrates a method that is supposed to be useful to practice, yet most can't be practiced in the same way it was examined.

By contrast, trying to interpret non-quantitative science turns into a game of "I'm the expert in this field and I saw it looks fine" vs "I'm not an expert in this field but it's still blatantly bullshit", and the former always wins.
