Why are millennials so anxious?

Don’t give me some copy-paste answer from The Guardian about housing prices, climate change, and avocados. I mean HOW did an entire generation grow up to have such a large percentage of depressed, anxiety-ridden, uncommunicative, helpless know-it-alls? Did some happen in the 90s that developmentally delayed them?

We all know these characters in our real lives:
> the basement dweller living with his divorced mom
> pot smokers
> problem glasses girl
> women who act rude in social situations because “I have anxiety”

Literally shaking rn. Need my emotional support teacup chihuahua to see me through this thread.

Kikes

Who raised them.

My DoorDash driver better have his mask in when he delivers my Avocado Toast.

These house prices are insane. I can’t afford anything! Oof!

Many have this feeling that nothing is as it seems to be.

You don't need genuine human connection to survive because you can buy everything from a supermarket or order it with a computer or phone, also +50% of households are fatherless which has been achieved by design.

I was born in wealth in a country that was experiencing continuous growth from decades.

By the time I joined the la our market, this part of the world became the ghost of its recent past.

I am know married and with a good job. Life is good but I cannot stop worrying about the next big fuck-up that is going to creep me.

most are retarded, but they can all sense that the future is going to really suck

im one of the pot smokers, it's the jews, early seasons south park explains it

>don’t give me the truth
>I want some sophistry
I’d just say economic instability. Not everything is some deep seated childhood developmental trauma piece. That is if we accept your OP as even remotely factually true, which it isn’t

>Did some happen in the 90s that developmentally delayed them?
happened a bit earlier, raised as sooks, never had to deal with reality so they can't cope

The consumerist angle is true, and while I believe the fatherless answer is true there has to be something more to it. Two of the most anxious women I know both grew up with doting fathers.

I would also add the fact that our generational anxiety is documented and publicly available.

Before, it was maybe just a bunch of guys bottling up issues and ending as beating-wives alcoholics or something similar.

It sometimes has to come down to individual factors too because a lot of people turn alright anyway regards the environment we live in.

I don't know what answer you want, it can be the atomized societal structure where anyone is free to do as they please so no one can be trusted and half of the people on street don't look familiar to you at all. It can be the ingredients and hormones a mother absorbs while a child is in the womb, including the vaxxines old and new.

Part of it has to do with the zero tolerance bullying policies that did nothing but protect the bullies. Teachers were and are overwhelmingly incompetent women who don't want to do the job of determining right and wrong and just punish the victims instead of encouraging them to stand up for themselves and end the bullying. When those who influence the population in their formative years teach them conflict avoidance instead of resolution, you end up adults with gay coping mechanisms.

>be nice to other people
>but beat out the competition

The real answer is we’re the first and only generation to have lived the first half of our lives in the pre-internet 80s/90s ‘old style world’ and the second half of our lives in the post-internet hyper-socialized global meta-space we call society now. The dissonance involved in looking across both sides of this mirror is too much for many

Punishing children for fighting back when they're attacked instead of running to the teacher has ruined more than one generation.

Yeah, zoomers are technically more fucked out but most of them don’t realize it so they seem more well-adjusted.

Millenials are the first post-modern generation. Generations before come from a modern perspective trying to understood post- modernism. While millennials were raised in a post-modern environment and now have to find or rediscover modernism or past modes of being.

millenials are the final generation to remember the world pre-internet while we don't reap the material benefits of the planetary technoprison, we can only watch helplessly as it spreads it tentacles across the world
