When did you realize modern architecture and car culture were a means of control?
Think about it, they wanted to make a world so ugly that people would refuse to spend time in it. Who wants to be outside if all there is to see are commie blocks? On top of this they made the cities unwalkable, car dependent actually.
So how does this translate into control? Think about it. If people are not spending time outside, and no one is walking in city centers then people are not interacting. No interaction = a calm populace. Revolutions cannot start if people do not talk to each other and meet up with each other.
Thus in effect car culture and ugly architecture both combine to keep people from connecting. Imagine Father Hidalgo, he rang the bells and people came to his aid. If a priest did that today no one would even hear them as they'd all be in their cars or they wouldn't be outside in the city center in the first place.
Lemme guess... The solution is smart wallable cities and banning cars sn't it...

A reasonable solution would be to provide alternative options to cars that can actually compete with cars in terms of travel times and convenience. Banning cars would be a terrible fucking idea. But a problem these "walkable cities" threads never address are zoning laws, roads used to segregate neighbourhoods, subsidusation and non-whites on public transportation.

Summer time, that's when all the climate crazies come out shilling hard for walkable cities (whatever that means). But here's the thing; the elites aren't giving up their cars, liberals won't give up theirs either, and are you going to walk in hot/cold/wet weather or walk 15 miles to the nearest city or take the bus 30 miles to your job?
