The problem with British people, and consequently Germans and other Germanic peoples as well is they never had anything but a very rough culture mostly revolved around random inconsistent shamanistic gods and drinking undiluted alcohol.
Britain before Germanics came was a place where the Romans came and lived alongside the native celts as opposed to just brutalizing and pushing them out of their land like the Saxons. The Romans taught the native celts culture and gave them technology and better reasoning and philosophy.
When the Anglo Saxons came they tore all of that down because they came in such massive numbers they completely destroyed the native culture and weren't interested in sharing land with them, instead they took the good land and pushed the Romans and Celts into Wales.
The far more civilized Normans then came after them and were far more cultured but there was only a very small number ruling over a massive peasant population of barbaric Saxons and those people became the modern English.
This is why a lot of the decent people in British society have French or Celtic sounding last names even if they're from the working class. Like Nigel Farage (Norman French) or Jacon Rees Mogg (Celtic Catholic).
And lots of the sloppiest people are Saxons. Jeremy Corbin for example.

You make good points but I think actually we are running into a problem where we broadly identify people by tribe like this. The classic phenotypical and dispositional attributes afforded to aristocracy is more helpful, races themselves must be divided by class. It wasn't Roman beggars, it was Roman nobility making those movements.
Some tribal migration can be more broad spectrum than that, occuring at the level of lower tribesmen seeking resources, but a lot of world events that resulted in diaspora necessarily will be motivated by people with the power to move a large mass of people at once -- the Emperors and Kings and clan leaders.
Not enough time is spent on the classification within a race, and we have inflated people of low stock identifying with nobility, but I find it absolutely necessary.
It was common up until the early 20th century even with Americans, WASPs and Lovecraft for example. But also Japanese, French, Europe and most famously India have identified classes with racial, phenotypical, and dispositional advantages -- all genetically advantageous traits. This is not unique to multi ethnic soceities but common across homogenous ones as well. The higher classes are racially distinct, if not an outright foreign race parasitizing some more primitive tribesmen as a work force. I think in England in particular that's a factor.
This is a problem when you get Americans who can't understand why Europeans don't broadly class everyone as "white" and fall for the same jewish tricks that work on them, we see finer details. Even within the same tribe, stratification exists.

What you're saying I completely understand, you're saying that within particular racial subgroups there is stratification as well, the stratification isn't just between tribes or races, and that's true.
The Saxons, for example, had their own nobles, their own peasants, some more educated people, some less.
But the fact of the matter is that certain races and tribes are more civilized, more intelligent, less violent, more reasonable than others.
In multi-tribal/racial countries like Britain or India or America these differences between races subsume the old stratification in big ways although not entirely.
Example, in America there is still poor uneducated whites but by and large whites are far more likely to be upper class and educated than blacks. And this new form of stratification makes the old inter-group stratification irrelevant.
