After the Slavic migrations, most "migrations" or invasions were just an elite military ruling class setting themselves up as lords over existing populations. The original steppe-dwelling Magyars would've been Indo-European, but came to rule over a population that when they interbred with probably only left less than 1% specifically Magyar DNA behind within the group. Hungarians are as closed to "pure European" as any other major group, and the rest of the admixture is Indo-Aryan anyway.
