How did Christians go from running powerful governments in Europe for hundreds of years to cucked "separation of church and state", "small government", "religion is a personal matter not a societal one" and "it's a sin to tell other people how to live their lives, mind your own business". Sodomy is no longer a sin. But homophobia. What happened?

The Enlightenment era happened. This is also when the monarchies of Europe declined and we're abolished during the French Revolution and the founding of the (((United States))) too.

were*

Cringy fedoras like you got bamboozled by kikes.

protestantism and the multiple holy wars in central europe gradually eroded the classic western mindset
the enlightenment set fire to the vestiges and ww1 was the final nail in the coffin
ww2 was a "modern" war for the simple fact that everyone involved, even the axis, ultimately believed in modernism

Seperation of church and state was always a Christian ideal. When Europe was Pagan there didn't exist a conception of religion being separate from the tribe or king. Medieval Europe was a Christian-Pagan hybrid culture, but over the centuries Christianity slowly became the dominant part.

>protestantism
c*tholic shitskin

even the brittle corpse of what used to be the catholic church is reactionary compared to most protestant churches
imagine trying to get the word of god from women pastors

>What happened?
There is no KING. The throne is empty. Waiting for some one to grab it.

oh yeah we shouldn't have "separation of church and state" so we can have yet another 30 years war.

>"Zeus is real"
>"prove it scientifically"
>"we can't"
>"guess he isn't real then, you should become Christian instead"

>"Christ is real"
>"prove it scientifically"
>"we can't"
>"guess he isn't real then, you should become atheist instead"

That's the problem with revolutions. They never stop where the original revolutionaries wanted them to stop.

The real answer is that the Renaissance discovered great classic works. This led to an interest in classical works of philosophy, drama, poetry, and history. These works were simply more inspiring than the Christian story, and so they took precedence and the Church lost its influence.

The Gospel is great, but there’s a reason a man like Napoleon was inspired by Homer and Livy and others.

>Separation of church and stat is bad
Fuck off christard. It's better for you as well. Literally the only reason why Orthodox church isn't a total pozzfest like any other branch, is because Czars took away all its political power and effectively performed its separation from state long before it was first formalized.
Btw modern egalitarian shit everyone complains about on this board, is literally a religion that managed to convince everyone that it isn't a religion. And therefore, all the state mandated nigger worship that plagues many nations, is a consequence of church finding loophole in separation from state and infesting it.

>christianity is cucked now
>meanwhile, the pope is part of the globohomo hegemony

The writing was on the wall ever since the schism between Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Protestantism only accelerated it, it was already bound to happen at that point.

>The Gospel is great, but there’s a reason a man like Napoleon was inspired by Homer and Livy and others.
And that reason is he was a Jewish Freemason, yeah.
