this was a big part of the 60s-70s progressive/New Thought project that doesn't get talked about much. The idea that old societal norms and traditions were repressive, including the nuclear family and age of consent. being open about child sexuality was considered hip and cool and progressive. this mostly got swept under the rug but still enjoys some support, especially in Netherlands and Belgium, and the gay community worldwide.
