Ireland is running out of priests

At the current rate, within a couple of decades Ireland, formerly known as the most devoutly Catholic country in Europe, will be almost entirely devoid of clergy, and the younger generations completely secularised. Fairly soon, the majority agnostic population may even dispense with the token ticking of the Roman Catholic box on census forms. The demise of the Catholic Church in Ireland is representative of the victory of the new atheist movement, both here and more broadly across the western world.

Nah, its cause priests in every little culchie town in Ireland raped boys and acted like they owned the place. Priests in the 50s in Ireland used to swagger up to peoples houses and demand to have dinner with them or they'd socially ostracise them at mass the following sunda6.
