Realistically? There won't be one. It'll be a slow decent into the entire west becoming South Africa or Brazil. Closest thing we'd get is an economic meltdown but the markets are essentially smoke and mirrors at this point, which puts us back at the first point.

It won't hit the fan. The Psychopass system is already implemented, brainhacking is possible, and these systems are stable enough to use for petty harassment.
My copy of The Viceroy was modified to prevent me from gaining any achievements that lift The Empire out of the lower classes and my brain was hacked to try to instill identification as an Imperial. Even if you don't believe the brainhack, I can prove that many of the achievements in The Viceroy were blocked.
Meanwhile, my personal fixations are Absolute Liberty and the pursuit of Justice, suggesting that I'm actually Commonwealth. Someone wanted to send a message that the Empire is going down and I'm going down with it, but... I appear to be Commonwealth!
