there are two main reasons
1/ like all other types of media the global elite have a lot of control over it and they make sure to fill it up with with bullshit propaganda to programme and manipulate the population
2/ music technology has become so good that artists aren't working as hard because they don't have to. I heard a good phrase about this a wile ago 'before there was protools there were pros' back in the 60s a rock band had to learn to play and sing in tune and in time to deliver a solid performance. Now we have the technology that you can just piece everything together and touch it up later to get rid of all of mistakes. Elvis Presley didn't need autotune, because it didn't exist back then, and so you had to actually learn to sing in tune. Now any idiot can buy a laptop, make a shitty beat, add some notes on a keyboard, mumble some bull shit rap and then autotune it into a hook for a dumb repetitive song.
3. the majority of people are willing to accept this trash. If everyone stopped buying it and listening to it then it would put pressure on the industry to change, but most people don't seem to mind enough to want it to change.
