Should there be a sugar tax?
Should there be a sugar tax?
~~test~~
we passed a tax on sugary sodas in california and it turns out it wasnt a tax on sugar but a tax on bubbles.
They'll never actually do anything good when you give them more power.
Tax fat too. After all the fatties should pay for their heft.
Welcome back
No more taxes
Coke has like 60 grams in a single serving 16oz bottle, would they be taxed the same as an 8 gram soda?
>natural sugar is good
Only if there is subsidization for healthy products.
All sugar is natural. Your "refined sugar" is dried grass. Oh man that's so scary and dangerous to human health.
they did this here under the premise it would fund the school board
1% goes to the schools and the rest goes to a general fund city council uses to pay for handjobs
soda consumption did not decrease
I think so. But depends; "free" healthcare = yes to a sugar tax. No "free" healthcare = no need for a sugar tax.
The fatties are gonna be overrunning the hospitals anyway, let them pay for the healthcare through taxes.
what country?
Also I never really think about it but holy shit I've had small brand sodas with 6-10 grams of sugar that were just as sweet as coke...why the fuck do they need 60 grams
Impossible, but ok.
>Oh man that's so scary and dangerous to human health.
It is.
Strong argument.
OK diet or zero sugar soda it is then, aaaaaah so sweet and healthy for me.
What is your argument? That's sugar is just fine?
Sugar is not food. Any food that is >5% sugar by a percentage of mass should be illegal.
only if you want the colonies to revolt. then do stamps next.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I CANT SURVIVE IN A WORLD WHERE COLA ADDICTION IS NOT CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAP FUCKING COMMIIIIIIES
