Artists being fucked up is nothing new. Artists will always try to over do one another in being fucked up and shocking. Zhu Yu did a really good job accomplishing this and a really good job at making it look realistic. I absolutely hate it but I admire the effort put in to make it seem so real and believable that Scotland Yard thought it was real and started an investigation.
