>Why did the world used to feel so much more "real" 10+ years ago?
Because you use to be a part of it.
lol you answer your own question with the pic you posted. astrology.
You ever read baudrillard user?
I think you would dig his ideas
This world hits different now fr fr
maybe because the cultural narrative wasn't being dictated by twitter retards
Less internet. The wired is a force of unreality.
I think you under estimate how bad COVID ruined people mentally and emotionally.
Because people who deny reality are now in charge of fabricating it.
"Culture" isn't even real anymore. It's manufactured. You're told who you're going to listen to, who you're going to read, who you're going to watch. None of it is organic. None of it is decided naturally.
The world gets smaller and smaller. Even corporations all have the same logos and own each other. A small world is depressing. Nothing to explore or look forward to.
I wouldn't say the world feels less or more "real" but it felt more coherent. This was due to the lack of social media on online resources. Yes we had the internet but it wasn't the all encompassing 24/7 behemoth it is now. The media, and various other record keeping groups could form a narrative and promote it and nobody could say anything against it because they simply didn't have the resources to question things much less prove them. Now they do.
Take the last election for example, one half 100%believes it was stolen has produced evidence (in the form of videos, statistical anomalies, and ballot analysis) to back it up. The other half 100% believes it was not and has produced evidence (official testimony, law precedents, and also ballot analysis) I'm not here to comment on that specific topic, the point is that these two view points are contradictory and can not exist on an objective reality(ie: the election was fair or not) yet they do. And there's no way to reconcile the two.
Post truth era. Leftist authoritarians can now completely ignore obvious reality and logic and just insist that something else completely false is true. Also they often take it even further and do immoral shit and then just falsely accuse their opponents of doing the same thing that they are actually doing. Official mainstream media and social media are completely detached from actual reality now and they just keep repeating the lies and agreeing with themselves to make it seem like a consensus.
Actually, the first time I remember shit like this was from Trump. The first press secretary ended up quitting because he didn't want to keep lying or something. Like claiming that the inauguration was the largest crowd ever when there were pictures of the crowd proving otherwise. And then he said he was not lying just stating "alternative facts" or something like that. That was when I first noticed shit like that. But the psycho woke left totalitarians picked up this idea of "alternative facts" and really fucking ran with it.

To be fair, depending on where you are, many things are just as prevalent in reality. But you can still avoid it and just find like minded people. They still exist they're just not what you see posted on twitter screenshot threads.
(((You))) were gaslighting less than nowadays.
And nothing from your (((Soviet))) Stasi here was shut down so far.
I'd like to follow this up by touching briefly on internet censorship. It's sometimes "joked" that you can find evidence for anything on the internet, whether it be some claim about how sugar has hidden health benefits while another swears it will kill you before a year is out. Another has the top ten reasons for an inclusive and diverse society and another has the folly tolerance and the price empires paid. And they will all have studies and experts claiming one way or another why their point of view is true or not. In the past, the establishment would pick one, and propagate it. But now there's so much info out there that unless the claim is so demonstrably untrue (the sky is green) or on a subject you yourself are an expert in, you have no real idea since you can't reasonably be expected to know everything. All you have to do is pick a side, amplify the voice, and now you have a new world view to contend and react to. And while the elites are smart about certain things, they aren't omniscient, and I think the vast amount of facts out there is frightening to them. They don't know what to do or how to respond. They desperately want to go back to the mono narrative world order that used to exist, not even for controls sake but just so they can know what's going on objectively. I think that scares them more than anything, that the have all this power and info at their fingertips and its useless because by the time they've sat down, analyzed and come to a conclusion they're already too far behind and new info has come out that re-contextualizes the initial event or even outright contradicts it. I think their push for censorship is less about power consolidation (though that is bonus) and more about getting breathing room for them. But by this point they realize the only way to do that is either through a hard rest of society OR an event so large that contextualizes everything around it and is unavoidable (think WWII).
That’s a narrative by big nosed scum (who are the ones flooding every media with trash) to concern troll and censor/control everything.
It’s also a narrative gaslighting because it assumes every source has the same validity, that the authors don’t matter, …
It’s another problem with the same solution as everything else: genociding your fellow psychopaths and sociopaths.
>believing I want to discuss this with some wykka faggot
I want to know the political perspective
Because we spend all our time looking at screens? Now we’re experiencing derealisation, depression, psychosis, etc, because we’re just not made to live like this.
The Internet was the same 10 years ago!
But with out the npc and their censorship.
I havent't been here for quite a while and it's quite funny to see the Any Forums-clientele descending into a selfimposed psychosis.
Based mexico user gets it. Having so many contradictory paradigms existing at once makes even the real one seem fake. All that cognitive dissonance and doubt makes it impossible for society to function as a single unit anymore and this isn't even including the fact that most Millenials and Zoomers are socially-awkward wrecks in public due to too much communication over the internet and not enough touchy-feely IRL stuff.
It's going to get worse before it gets better, if its even possible.
