My city has become a Syrian enclave. There's so many Syrians that even the Döner Kebap shops went bankrupt, because apparently Syrians don't like Turkish food. They have their own closed economy with supermarkets and all kinds of stores. The women receive 'Kindergeld' from the state for each of their many children plus other benefits and then use the money to shop in the enclave stores which do not pay taxes. The men, who operate them, then use the profits to buy sportscars, usually Mercedes, and drive around the city center to woo the remaining German women and intimidate the many adolescent Syrian boys who use E-scooters to ride on the public walkways. The local government is watching idly as the city slowly falls into disrepair. Once every few months the state govt orders a police excursion into the enclave to pacify the waterpipe bars where drugs are dealt and other illegal business is conducted. However, the bars simply re-open the very next day.

The owners of businesses where Germans also shop are usually polite and professional. There's rarely outright violence, aside from petty crime and Syrian teenagers harassing the Elderly Germans who can not afford to or refuse to move, usually renters who've lived in the same apartment for many decades. They are especially miserable because all the German butcheshops, bakeries, cafes and so on have gone out of business. Overall it's not dangerous if you do not provoke. However, the Syrians are devoid of any culture and interested in little else than eating huge platters of their indigenous food, smoking cigarettes, and generally just standing around chatting all day.
If you walk through the city some time before noon on a workday, you can go entire blocks without seeing a European person. It's not a slum, it's just like visiting a random Arab country.
